Give without a get. Overdressing (joyfully) for the Revolution.

Love Others With Layers

While I’d like improve my overall health (high blood pressure) and strength (need to protect my knees!), I love my body, so I don’t dress to flatter it. But I suppose there are ways to wear our clothes in ways that make the artistry of the garment shine.

I say this because it’s another cold day, and another layering moment. I put together pieces that felt good to me, particularly in these colors. I’m wearing a secondhand velvetyish brown dress that’s nice and stretchy. Over it, I put on this gorgeous Rujuta Sheth wrap dress – one of the last new clothing purchases I’ll be making for a while. The dress is so lovely, and I love the bold print in these soft colors. But now that I look at my ootd photo, was wondering if maybe wearing it as a duster to the office all day, just to be covered up by a coat again does it a disservice. I suppose I’ll just have to take it out and show it off on its own in warmer weather!

Speaking of coats, consider donating to a local coat drive. One of the most active near me is New York Cares, in its 37th year of collecting and donating coats .
