Gotta Have Faith

It’s both the first full day of Ramadan (Ramadan Mubarak!) and Ash Wednesday (is there a greeting for that?), so to all those of faith, I wish you peace as you enter your holy season! 

I’m entering my rainy Wednesday in an all-secondhand outfit and 13 year old boots. I’ve got leg warmers on my arms because I forgot my gloves, so here’s to having faith that we can do as well as we can by simply making do! I keep learning a lot during this month of giving up a lot of big commerce conveniences. Plus, relying on public transportation instead of my car means my step count is higher!

I was making these ‘sacrifices’ (first world level only) as part of a general February Freeze, but had been wondering if I can carry it over through the Lenten season. Since I’m not a practicing Catholic, I suppose it’s less about religious sacrifice, more about more intentional living.
